I built it too, but I have a simple problem with GProf (yes I´ve googled
but no one seems to have ever taken this into account), I can´t pass command
line args to mplayer.

e.g.

gprof ./mplayer -mynicearg -> gprof feels to take over the parameter
"-mynicearg"

Any hints? I would like to find out why playing of MP3´s with

"-alsa9:surround -channels 4" always uses 100% CPU (Athlon XP+ 1600, every
MPlayer version from 0.92 up to now...)
