any chance to get this done to Mencoder as well? a user came in
#mplayer asking about output to stdout and i refered him to RC's
post about quieting down mplayer, he got this line working:

mencoder -quiet /dev/video0 -oac mp3lame -ovc lavc -o /dev/stdout 3>&1 1>&2 > capture.avi

but -silent would be nice too ;)
