This is really not a big deal. You give them MPlayer, tell
them how to use it (drag&drop, basic key commands) and they
happily use it. You would be surprised how much Windaus can learn
if they want to :)

But anyways. IMHO the gui should be completly rewriten using
a portable aproach/widget set, but this requires also a bunch
of changes on how mplayer works as currently the gui needs
hooks everywhere in the code. This was one of the reasons
for G2.
