[MPlayer-dev-eng] finalizing nut!

Hi,

I too agree with gabor's statement about encodings. Maybe Nut could even
force every text format into UTF-8 because otherwise two byte encodings
might be stored as well, and that would complicate matters on the player
side a lot (depends on where and how the encoding is stored).

Matroska stores global headers for subtitle files in the track headers
just like any other global initialization data for a codec. It's up to
the 'codec' ( = subtitle handler) to interprete those. For SSA/ASS this
is practically everything before the [Events] section.

Each individual subtitle entry is put into one Matroska block along with
its duration. The contents are not modified regarding SSA/ASS markup,
although the timestamp and duration are removed from each line in order
to avoid ambiguity between the container and the content level.

After seeking a player will start showing subtitles from the next entry
that it encounters. Everything else (seeking the previous entry and
showing those if the seek ended between their timestamp + duration) is
IMHO overkill and way too much eeffort for too little gain.
