Don't worry, nobody else is leaving. Bigger projects are like that,
people come and eventually go, generations change. Such a generation
change is taking place now, or rather has already. All the people
that left have been very active in the past but practically retired
lately, all the ones that most worked on the project during the recent
past are still there.

MPlayer is not going away any time soon. New people are coming aboard
already. But we could still use some more. So if you have been
lurking on the sidelines all this time, step up and participate. This
is the way open source works and it works faster if you help.

There have been arguments about the future direction of the project,
how certain parts of it should be handled and its license and there
have also been personal disputes.
