Hello,

I heard some complaints recently about libungif not building on mingw,
and so on.  So I'm releasing my version on libungif: libregif.

Some nice things about libregif:
1) compatible with libungif. (it is libungif, patched)
2) fixed a couple of ungif library bugs.
3) has old libgif lzw compression code added back in.
   (so hopefully you care as little about patents as I do...)
4) removed cruft (utils, x11 deps, etc.)
5) made the build system suck just a little bit less.
6) tested on debian, redhat, mingw, and cygwin.  RPMs available.

So go use it!  It's wonderful!

PS: ( And for the paranoid among you, I'm fairly sure that
the lzw patent finally ran out here in the US last year. )
