yes i know that was because i mistakely checked for audio fourcc NULL instead of NONE that was fixed in the 2nd patch i sent.

i'm sorry i didn't mean fixed fps. i meant when the msb of that fps byte is not set. but it seems like its not always a fractional framerate when that bit is set.

no i dont think it does. since most of those stream sources are continuously streaming you might connect in the middle of it. but it does search for the first nsvs header in the stream. still  that too may not guarantee the first frame to be an i-frame. how would i check that?

as for vp5 the first few frames show correctly and then i get mosaic and mplayer dies.
