yes, but duplicating such code into each vo isn't better.
there was some step to remove swscaler and rgb/yuiv converters from vo
recently, so we should continue that instead of re-adding mess.

the vf layer should be extended to allow user-friendly configuration.
i've started it in g2, but currently i'm busy with work, so it's suspended.
