You know, I'd been thinking about a mechanism just like this, too... :)

Yeah, I'm pretty certain.  I had an AVI I was transcoding, and audio sync
would drift.  When I added this patch, it fixed the problem.  But, then
again, perhaps I will revisit the movie and see if I'm just cracked... I
probably am. :)
