The sysinit part is ugly.  Not all Linuxes have /etc/rc.d, let alone all
other MPlayer platforms.  IMO, you should prompt the user to add the line
him/her self - otherwise you'll be writing a case for every OS MPlayer
supports.  You could prompt the user for which file their system uses, but
if s/he is savvy enough to know that, they probably won't be using your
script anyway.
