Hmm, I confirmed, it looks like you're right. And with the file named
.mpeg, mplayer plays it fine. But with another suffix (originally it
was .dat, but same thing happens with no . in the filename) it tries
the tivo demuxer and fails?!? Maybe the PS demuxer isn't detecting it
well, but only working when .mpeg suffix forces it, and then demuxer
init falls back to tivo...??
