[MPlayer-dev-eng] Danish localisation (was: Near a release (patches, call for translations))

Hi,
Inspired by this thread, I took a look at the Danish translation. I
found a lot of English transliterations into words that don't exist in
Danish ("codec" being one, "enkoder" another), bad grammar here and
there (mainly with compound words and the lack thereof and various uses
of present tense and imperative I disagree with) and a few sentences
which simply didn't make sense to me. When translating from English to
Danish, there are many technical terms which aren't easily translated.
I believe that one should try to find something that means roughly the
same and risk the possibilty loose a bit of accuracy, rather than using
anglicisms. After all, people who understand English, might as well use
the English version.
To begin with, I wanted to just correct the worst errors, but I ended
up changing almost every line. I have about half of it done, and it's
attached below. The unified diff is 30k compared to the 36k of the full
file. I attach the diff anyway for reference.
A small disclaimer: I don't have Danish as the default language on my
system, so there may be some inconsistencies to what the commonly
accepted wording is.
An example:
"- MPlayer fejlede ved en 'ulovlig instruktion'.\n"\
" Det kan være en fejl i den nye kørselstids
cpu-detekteringskode...\n"\
In Danish "fejle" implies active choice, and considering MPlayer has no
free will, this is impossible ;)
"kørselstids cpu-detekteringskode" is a direct transliteration of
"runtime CPU-detection". First of all, I wouldn't call runtime
"kørselstid" but use another word, and second, "dynamisk
processoroptimeringskode" will get a largely correct message out to
techies, and to the rest, it will probably sound as technical as it is,
but they should understand what it does.
An example of something which I doubt will make sense to people is
"\nskip billede!!! \n".
Of course, if you disagree with my changes, feel free to ignore them.
- Dan
