hi,

for a reason not related to mplayer ( i wanted to install evolution ),
i installed libiconv (http://www.gnu.org/software/libiconv/) on my
computer...

but now mplayer crashes....

it crashes when watching ogg files with subtitles... it basically
crashes when the subtitle needs to be displayed.

i tried gdb, and mplayer is crashing inside one of libiconv's functions
of course i can give a more precise error description,
if needed
it doesn't crash with normal avi's with text subtitles.

there was a commit at 28.12.2002 which made ogg-subtitles to be passed
thru iconv.
that change made mplayer crash for me.

if i uninstall libiconv , then it works..

i'm not sure why is libiconv needed by evolution, as the description of
libiconv says it's used on systems where glibc doesn't provide iconv,
but that's not the case on my computer...

so basically i'm asking... is libiconv supported?

thanks,
gabor
