i think that's not what he mentions...

after all, it's not hard to get the right file manually..

you start the reference-mov file, and pick the last reference
from mplayer's output.

but i also think this should be done automatically, or add
a -dontfollowreferences parameter to mplayer for not following
them automatically, or something like that.
