Ah, this explains a long standing problem: When two subtitles should be 
following each other directly, there still is a slight pause in 
MPlayer. This is especially nasty when the second subtitle isn't a 
subtitle by itself, but rather an extension of the first (same writing 
plus some more).

Good job! Now I can erase this from my "to investigate" list. ;-)
