<http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91056> contains details of a
sawfish bug when used with Xinerama. gmplayer is one of two programs
I've found that trigger it - random windows and/or the Gnome panel
disappear and/or sawfish crashes. The cure for gmplayer is easy enough,
but I can't find one for the other trigger (Galeon), so I wonder if the
developers can help identify anything unusual about the way gmplayer
behaves under the following circumstances.
The trigger is trying to play a file in gmplayer (but not mplayer
without its own gui) without a subtitle font (subfont.ttf) installed.
mplayer's video window, control panel and the font error window open,
but the rest of the desktop gets pretty much trashed and sometimes the
main video window closes too.
FWIW, today I played a clip that generated an error about a missing
codec, but this seemed not to trigger the bug. Would the font error
uniquely cause a window to open then immediately be closed? Something
like this seems to be the trigger from Galeon, and the original reporter
found it was caused by multiple window closures from nedit.
