Hi,

this patch add a new parameter to the "slave-interface" (-slave 
parameter) to show a (short) text using the OSD ...

You can use it with:
osd_show_text message-string

I use this to show the channel for my Pinnacle Bungee TV  Card (USB), 
because this have no bttv-interface (yet), but generates MPEG2 as stream :-)
