forgive the bother,

I am working on a Linux application that is going to exist in an unattended
environment.  We are in need of a dependable media application and are
committed to open source.  Mplayer features suggest that it is the answer,
but we have had some trouble with real media playback (jerkiness of video,
and video freezing for a second or two).  I am looking for an experienced
developer to push us the last mile.  If you or anyone you know fits that
