Well, in one of my DVD's (where i can navigate the menus), I choose
Portuguese subtitles, and then select the button for 'View movie'.
But the movie has no subtitles...

I am guessing what button is selected.

For example with 'The Matrix' I get the main menu, but as soon as I select
ANY other menu, scene selection, audio/video selection, special features,
mplayer freezes and only responda to a CTRL-C.


btw, when I select view movie, it plays OK and pressing 'M' does return
to the main movie menu.


More details on my system:

Celeron 266 at 400Mhz,
128Mb RAM
Matrox Millenium II, using the kernel's framebuffer drivers (matrox_fb)
SbLive 5.1

I also have a DXR3, but for the moment i'm not using it. It will not
make any difference.

Again, what help do you need? I am willing to try almost anything...
