FYI, I had to add ``-lpangoft2-1.0'' to the gcc options for the final
mplayer link, or I would get an unresolved symbol:

libvo/libvo.a(font_load_ft.o)(.text+0x2101): In function
`read_font_desc_ft':
: undefined reference to `FT_Get_First_Char'
libvo/libvo.a(font_load_ft.o)(.text+0x212f): In function
`read_font_desc_ft':
: undefined reference to `FT_Get_Next_Char'
