  Just a note about devfs.  I've run it for years, but with these
  two lines in my /etc/devfsd.conf

REGISTER        .*              MKOLDCOMPAT
UNREGISTER      .*              RMOLDCOMPAT

  and /dev/rtc already exists (as a link, created by the devfsd for me).

  Seems good enough.  You cannot edit these kind of patches, by the way.
