does anyone have a working fix/workaround for this?
i remember seeing something here some time ago but i'm unable to find it :(

hmm. it should check both width==screenwidth and height==screenwidth
and also should disable this check if the original width/height is equal to
screen w/h to avoid problems of 640x480 or 1024x768 videos
