Good. Then we've tried another recording app and it seems to work for me.
Up to now, the only apps I had tried were:

Hauppauge WinTV Nexus: OK.
MultiDec:    some channels are broken, the same channels work OK with 
WinTV nexus

Umm... the demuxer has pretty simple code, I thought it would not run 
into compiler bugs/"dialects" and so. Anyway, I have only tried it on my 
trusty Debian sid box with 2.95.4...
SMB shares should be ok, at least I have played around a lot with them 
and the first test runs of the demuxer were also on a SMB share, it was 
not a problem for me.

Anyway, this really is an interesting issue. Someone else should test 
it... Anyway, what about the other test file on which it failed?
Did you upload that one as well?
