Regarding this, could you make an explanation of exactly what this option
does?
Because if it's enabled (default), MPlayer
 - hangs on the 2. second of an MPEG1 file
 - plays DVDs with 100% CPU (!) usage
on my K6/2-500, Hollywood Plus.
