No, that's not the same.. -fps changes the speed of the movie.. -ofps changes 
the framerate of the output... That is, the destination .avi in mencoder..  I 
want get a constant framerate to the -vop's and -vo's...  That's because my 
bmovl ("bitmap overlay") filter which I released here earlier is about be 
used by freevo to display menus, information and Teletext on top of the 
videoscreen when TV or video is running... Bmovl is basically a framebuffer 
implemented as a MPlayer -vop filter.. ;)   It would be nice to always have 
for example 25 or 30 fps, even when playing videos with variable framerate 
and when it is paused, so we know how fast we should send moving data, and so 
we can still browse what video to play next when the current one is paused...

I'm just asking you how hard it would be to implement it, because you guys 
know MPlayer's architecture WAY better than I do! ;)
