no. I have had a few e-mail discussions with him. He does not want to
be the official mantainer; so the 
Debian mantainer for mplayer will be Dariusz. 
 
Dariusz has already packaged a mplayer-font and mplayer-skins 
Debian packages

this is actually very simple: put  all .debs in one place
and run 

$ dpkg-scanpackages . /dev/null > Packages 2> /dev/null
$ dpkg-scansources  . /dev/null > Sources 2> /dev/null
$ gzip -c Packages > Packages.gz
$ gzip -c Sources > Sources.gz

then you can apt-get from that directory
