mplayer is insecure, it's fact.
but we'll get free advertising at security forums for next few years :)

lgb even wrote an /etc/shadow subtitle parser, so suid mplayer users can
display user accounts as subtitles under their favourite divx movie :)

but. mplayer doesn't have to be suid root. only a few things needs root
rights, like svgalib/vesa/vidix drivers or the old-style libcss dvd playback.
most users don't need these.
