Yes, it is.

No way bypassing the demux stage and directly feeding into the video 
decoder?
Therefore I'm mistaken and it's not a config problem? Well, at least I 
dare a look into the source. ;-)

ISO-MPEG4 A/V in Quicktime container works fine!
