Yes they do (at least for --enable-*, --disable-*, --with-*, and
--without-*). All autoconf-generated configure scripts have to ignore
such unknown options, so that the abomination known as recursive
configure (and here we thought recursive make was bad enough, eh?) can
work. Bleh.
