think it'll ever be feasible to have mplayer allow seeking to any
video frame, by having the seek request first seek to the previous
keyframe, then decode up to the requested frame? such a feature would
be very helpful once mencoder gets to the point of really being useful
for video editing, e.g. splitting and merging files at arbitrary
points.

by the way, speaking of seeking video, it seems to be completely
broken for ntsc dvds. is this a known issue, and how hard would it be
to fix?
