Yes there is. It may sound strange. but if you have just some framedrops
(ie less than 1%) you may go better with -noframedrop. The movie will be more
smooth as no frames are droppend and because the cpu is just a little bit too
slow mplayer is still able to correct the A/V sync.

I dont know it in exact numbers (never measured it), but i had the impression
that mplayer uses a little bit less cpu with -noframedrop than with the default.
(can also be just my imagination)
