it works now ....

gnome 2.1 + metacity 2.4.8

it didn't work with current cvs, and works with your patch applied,

ofcourse it has to be tested with the other wmanagers...
so, i did some testing.. mplayer with your last patch:
works with gnome2.1 + sawfish/metacity
works with icewm
works with fluxbox ( if you tell the slit to be always on top then it
will be visible with mplayer-fullscreen, i don't know if this is a bug
or feature )
