  The problem we in tvtime have had with GNOME2 is that the Metacity
basically requires that fullscreen apps support the ewmh standard in
order to work right.  Otherwise in our code the fullscreen is obscured
by the panel and crap.

  Really annoying.  Even worse, if I enable ewmh (I'm using the code
from ogle), then the panel obscures my fullscreen app using
sawfish/gnome2.

  So, make sure you test with Metacity as it seems to be the most picky.
