Yes, you see that's the entire point of autodetect.
Because it's not implemented in cygwin, I want to
allow a fallback to inet_aton.  There's no reason
at all to limit this to cygwin only when there are
other systems that may benefit from this fallback
code as well.

And please please please start using linebreaks in your paragraphs.
