[MPlayer-dev-eng] Mplayer as a lib ?

Hi,

I'm currently writing a "karaoke" software. I'd like to make 2d effect with text while
playing a video. First I planned to use directly codecs but finally it ends up rewriting part 
of mplayer.

So does a lib interface to mplayer (ala DirectShow) is planned or do I have to write it myself ?
