I posted a patch that hided subtitles on request almost a
month ago, but I got a reply that it is useless as it could
be done by hiding osd_level. I tried it and it didn't work,
but I thought that maybe I am just stupid. As I didn't
have time, I left it.
Now I see that other people have the same problems.
I think that it is important to have an ability to hide subtitles,
because you can watch films without subtitles to learn
a language and if you can't understand a sentence,
you just temporarily switch subtitles on.

I didn't use the osd_level, but added "toggle_sub" option
to input.c so that you can bind it to a key and not
to bother people that don't want this feature.
The patch is really small (about 50 lines) and does not
bother in any way people that don't want to use it.
In the present time, I have to patch manually every
snapshot that I compile to be able to switch off subtitles.

Is anybody interested, should I resend the patch
(changed to work with the latest CVS)?
