try mplayer -vo x11 -zoom -fs file.mpg

not yet. it's for YV12 only. no YUY2 or BGR modes.
i see no sense of supporting non-YV12 formats, as major
codecs are all YV12, and it's the fastest native mode of
all mpeg-like codecs.

it's a qulity loss and uses much more memory.
