1. binutils-2.9.5 was never introduced as stable and you can't find out it
on ftp.gnu.org
2. configure said that preferred version of binutils is 2.9.1 it sould be only in case
when MMX only support is required.
3. The fact that configure have detected that 2.9.5 failed is tell me that as can't assembly
NOP or EMMS. It's very strange. IMHO --disable-as-checking never help in this case and
it's not implemented now.

I suggest 2.10.1
