[MPlayer-dev-eng] -ss option in mencoder

hi

today I've think about the (hopefully) coming -ss option for mplayer.

the problem if we handle this like in mplayer is, that the first frames
will be encoded with errors (e.g. green boxes of the original file is a
mpeg-file, because of the I- and Keyframes (AVI))

so I think the best way is the decode the hole video and only give the
encoder (divx4 oder libavcodec) the frame, later that the -ss option
says. Audio should of couse also start on the position.

could anybody please add this?

I think the best way is the set "-ss frames", not "-ss time", it would
be exacter...
