-vc rv40win works. A few snippets from mplayer output:
CommandLine: '-verbose' '1' '-vc' 'rv40win'

Mine is the same. I downloaded it from MPlayerHQ, and no other copies of it
exist on my system.
>let me get this straight, you are reencoding a reencoded rm to dvd?
>some source> original avi> animehq rm> dvd mpeg2? ehhe you crazy.
Well, these are the video files that I have. I am putting them on DVD so
that my brother's friends who don't have computers can watch them. I am not
that concerned about quality. I intend to put about 18 20-minute episodes on
each DVD.
>i get no crash with my cygwin compiled mplayer.
I thought that it might work for you. After all, the same files play OK at
work.
>anyways, its most probably your codec dll...
Or maybe my video card driver? I don't have another card to try. It's late
now, but tomorrow morning I will try using the standard Windows SVGA driver.
