[MPlayer-cygwin] [BUGREPORT] MPlayer/MEncoder reproducible crash on particular rmvb files

Greetings from the land of Newbia!
I was advised on MPlayer-users that this list is not really just for
developers even though the documentation says so, and I should take my
Windows-specific problem here. If this is not so, then you know where to aim
your flame throwers.
Anyway:
I am really working with MEncoder, but I have included information from
MPlayer as well as MEncoder in this report in case it might be helpful, as
it appears to be the same problem.
I have a collection of .RMVB files that cause both
progs to crash at certain points within the files. The crashes are
reproducible (by me - chances are it will work on your system).
1) On my PC, it works in Linux, but not in Win98 SE, XP Pro SP2, and
2003.
2) It works on 2 PCs at work to which I have easy access (Win2K Pro SP4,
and Win2K3 Server, both with Intel Express Graphics video on-board.
3) Reducing hardware accelerations only causes the audio and video to
become badly out-of-sync, but the crash still occurs.
4) RealPlayer 10.5 (now uninstalled), Media Player Classic (Real
Alternative) and Windows Media Player 10 (using RealMedia Splitter
Direct Show Filter) can all play these files without problems.
5) MPlayer -vo (gl or gl2) produce the same results as the default -vo.
6) MPlayer -vo null will not crash.
7) I can play other RealMedia files with MPlayer. In particular, 2 of
this batch of 19 files can be played/re-encoded with MPlayer/MEncoder.
8) I have uploaded johbrown105_bugreport.tar.bz2 to www.yousendit.com.
The archive contains a sample movie (1.5MB, approximately 51s) that
causes MPlayer and MEncoder to crash at 39 seconds, as well as program
output, gdb back traces, system info, etc., all of which is included in
this message except for the MPlayer and MEncoder logs. Here I include
the messages that appear before the first status line, and the last few
status lines.
The archive will be available for 7 days or 25 downloads, whichever comes
first.
You can download it at:
http://s27.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=098YGATL2US5W1RFM582WE64H0
You can post to MPlayer-cygwin at mplayerhq.hu, or e-mail me at
johnbrown105 at hotmail.com.
