[MPlayer-cygwin] Possible dirextx bug ?

I like to run a windows shell, ie an explorer replacement.
However when I do so more times than not when I try plackback with 
mplayer-gygwin the gui one I get a green screen.
It disappears when I change video output to directx:noaccel but the 
videos don't render as good.
Has anyone else noticed it or has a workaround ?

Any help for be greatly recieved.
