If you want to use precompiled binaries from mplayerhq.hu, just unpack 
the archive of the binary and drop the file your want to play on mplayer.exe
You will find a directory named mplayer with well know config files, 
too. Another easy way ist to set mplayer.exe as default application for 
the container files you want it to play. Then a double-click on the file 
will be enough to start playback with mplayer.

For building mplayer yourself have a look at the documentation available 
on mplayerhq.hu, sectoion Ports, and look for a set of mails concerning 
building libs under MinGW.
