[MPlayer-cygwin] Mencoder problems

I appologize, but it's hard to find info on how to use mencoder, so I
wonder if you can tell me what I might be doing wrong and how I can use it.
Basically, I got an HD decoder card for my computer recently, and the
format it saves captures to has the .tp extension. I don't know if this
is something that mencoder will be able to handle very well, but mplayer
plays it just fine, oddly.
First I tried using this line:
mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy t.tp t.avi
This successfully created a basic AVI of the file, as you'd expect. It
did give a bunch of errors during the encoding, but it all seemed to be
something to do with the video resolution.
Anyway, I then tried this:
mencoder -oac copy -ovc xvid t.tp t.avi
That didn't work so well. Mencoder crashed after giving me the
following. What do I do?
