[MPlayer-cygwin] Alternativ terminal/CMD/Command.com for Windows98

Hi to all of you.
Lately I have been working a little bit with the CMD.exe on WinXP and now
love its ability to scroll up output. On my Windows98 I am stuck to
Command.com, which will show only 25 lines.
I can remember that once someone posted an alternative for the slow
Windows98 Command.com on this Mailing list (it was in relation to the
topic -quiet so that Command.com will not eat up all CPU resources). I
searche the Archive but could not find the mail.
Was it rxvt? Is the rxvt comming with MSYS the best choice?
Are there other good alternatives?
