Does the build directry approach work on cygwin?
I have mplayer cvs files in ./mplayer dir, ./mplayer_build is empty.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src
$ cd mplayer-build/

netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src/mplayer-build
$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.1 gyogyi 1.5.3(0.90/3/2) 2003-09-01 13:15 i686 unknown unk
nown Cygwin

netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src/mplayer-build
$ ../mplayer/configure --prefix=/usr/local/mplayer --enable-runtime-cp
pudetection --cc=/usr/bin/gcc-2

Error: help/help_mp-en.h not found

Check "configure.log" if you do not understand why it failed.

netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src/mplayer-build
$ ln -s ../mplayer/help .

netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src/mplayer-build
$ ../mplayer/configure --prefix=/usr/local/mplayer --enable-runtime-cp
pudetection --cc=/usr/bin/gcc-2

Then the configure script runs fine, but there's no Makefile:

-------------------------------------------------------------
netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src/mplayer-build
$ make
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

netchan at gyogyi /usr/local/src/mplayer-build
$ ls
config.h  config.mak  configure.log  help  help_mp.h

Any ideas?
Sandor
