[MPlayer-cygwin] Latest cvs also fails dvd's, wants libdvdread ?

Sorry I don't have a dvd drive and can't fix this :(
but you may try to change line 308 of libmpdvdkit2/dvdreader.c to

int cdir = open( ".", O_RDONLY | O_BINARY);
