Thanks. I support your quest against embedded libs in principle,
but I have different opinions on the priorities and how well I
think the external versions need to work, in addition to
any interference with my personal development style (I know, I
know, it shouldn't be very relevant ideally but it is somewhat relevant).
Also I'd prefer if the time invested in this was invested in the
embedded libs that IMO are much more of a actual problem (and much
older): mp3lib and tremor, both of which I would foresee as becoming
significant issues - libass just doesn't evoke the same feeling of
dread :-)
