In case you wonder how this can work without $-signs in front of the
variable names (it cannot), don't worry, I put it in the PPC section
instead of x86 anyway, so this bug was being masked by an even bigger
one ...

I'll assign myself the surprisingly low amount of 1l of Cola, but I'll
go out now, buy a bottle and really drink it.  A short walk should help
clear up my brain a bit, Sundays after parties are not the best days
for programming ;)
