You are actually wrong. Both cases are meritocracy.
They only differ in the used merit (aka measurement for achievement).
In another mail I have already explained Mr Biurrun absurd
interpretation, which he used as moral justification to ignore the
democratic vote of developers (because we/they don't work in the same
area).
Anyway, I don't think we should spam mplayer-cvs more with this.
